How do the electric components work?

When your bike is electrified it will feel very much like how it used to while riding however you’ll be getting an extra push while you go! The motor is a ‘pedelec’ which means it will kick in when you are pedalling providing a boost to your pedal power.

You can select the level of assistance you would like from the Bluetooth controller mounted on the handlebars. This means you can choose how much effort you put in for every ride.

The 250W motor will assist you up to 15.5mph which is the UK speed limit for electric bikes on the road. The ARCC electric bike conversion is within UK regulations meaning you can ride it anywhere without requiring a license or insurance.

Why choose the ARCC Intelligent Drive Pod?

Our conversion service will equip for a bike with the ARCC Intelligent Drive Pod which is one of the smartest e-bike motors in the industry. The Drive Pod combines Bluetooth-controlled variable power levels with automatic hill/gradient compensation, allowing commuting cyclists to choose the amount of effort both they and the motor provides; automatically compensates for hills and gradients; and provides ‘launch control’, for safety when moving away from lights and crossings in heavy traffic.

The pod uses an industry standard 4.0 Ah, 6.0 Ah or 9.0 Ah Bosch battery, which are readily available from stores and online, and have a range of up to 75km dependent on the battery used. When the battery is removed, the eBike reverts to its standard configuration and can be used as a regular bike.

Launch Control

Launch control technology will give you a 3 second boost for an effortless get away from lights, crossings and heavy traffic. You simply hold down on both breaks while at a standstill, then when you push away you’ll get a strong 3 second boost to get you away from traffic.

Bluetooth Controller

A handlebar mounted bluetooth controller will allow you to alter the power levels whilst riding. This can also be done when you connect your bike to the free e2 app.
