How It Works
The ARCC Intelligent Drive Pod is currently compatible for retrofitting with the following bikes:

Bespoke Conversions
As well as the current range, we can also do bespoke fittings to some bikes starting from £2,100. Previous bespoke bike retrofits include a Recumbent and The PF Mobility Side-By-Side Trike.
ARCC will honour the remainder of your Brompton’s warranty once you retrofit it.

Lightweight Upgrade
Only adding 3.9kg to the weight of the standard bike, the ARCC Intelligent Drive Pod combines Bluetooth-controlled variable power levels with automatic hill/gradient compensation, allowing commuting cyclists to choose the amount of effort both they and the motor provides; automatically compensates for hills and gradients; and provides ‘launch control’, for safety when moving away from lights and crossings in heavy traffic.
Expertly Crafted
Designed and built by our experts at ARCC, the Intelligent Drive Pod uses a readily available Bosch battery, has a range of up to 75 kilometres and boasts a unique function in its ‘launch control’ which provides the rider with a three-second boost, to help in moving away from traffic lights and crossings in heavy traffic.
Impressive Battery Life
The pod uses an industry standard 4.0 Ah, 6.0 Ah or 9.0 Ah Bosch battery, which are readily available from stores and online and have a range of up to 75km dependant on the battery used. When the battery is removed, the eBike reverts to its standard configuration and can be used as a regular bike.

Delivery and returns
Delivery times vary by brand; check the estimate for your chosen model. Free delivery on orders over £500 is subject to product exceptions, with any charges calculated at checkout. Deliveries outside the UK mainland may incur additional charges.
Our standard Returns Policy provides 30 days to return or exchange an eligible item. Items must be in as-new condition with tags, original packaging and proof of purchase. Brand-specific exceptions apply. Change-of-mind returns are subject to delivery costs and a restocking fee. Contact us before returning an item; see the full policy and any Cycle to Work terms. Your statutory rights are not affected.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:
Any orders cancelled after 12 hours of placing the order may be subject to additional fees. If your order has been dispatched, you (the buyer) will be responsible for any costs associated with returning the item. Any refunds can only be issued to the same payment method which was used to place the order.

If you already have a cycle to work voucher (aka certificate or letter of collection), simply email it across to us at info@pedalandchain.co.uk .
We will redeem your certificate and then arrange the delivery of your new electric bike. We will also walk you through the easy process and provide you with tracking information when your bike has been dispatched.

Signed up to a scheme but no voucher?
Simply ask your employer to use their cycle to work scheme and submit your quote which will be the value of the bike that you want.
They will be able to arrange a voucher for you which you can then email across to us in exchange for your new electric bike!

Electric Vehicle Legal Guide
There are laws surrounding the use of electric bikes and e-scooters in the UK.
Below is a clear and simple summary of the laws, so that you know how to use your electric bike/scooter safely and legally.
Electric Bikes
- DO NOT require a license
- DO NOT require insurance or registration
- Riders must be a minimum of 14 years old
- Helmets are not mandatory
- On public roads, motors should be limited to 250W
- On public roads, ebikes must be powered by pedal assist and not a throttle
- On public roads, the top speed should be limited to 25 km/h
The limit to the motor on public roads is 250W, some e bikes have settings that exceed this limit which are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission. The assisted speed limit for e-bikes on the road is 15.5mph.
Electric Scooters
Under current UK law, privately owned electric scooters are illegal to ride on public roads. They are only to be used on private land with the landowners permission.
