The Commute E-Bike comes with a 1 year warranty for electrics and a 4 year warranty on the bike. The best bit about our warranty is that we are a UK company so no wait while the Warranty is dealt with in Europe or China.
Safety
Personal electrical vehicles are the responsibility of the owner. Before riding, the laws of the country must be checked on the subject. We are not responsible for any mishaps, accidents or violation of any rules / laws by the use of this product.
The correct safety protection should be worn when using any vehicle of emovement.co.uk. This includes but is not limited to helmet, gloves, elbow, knee and body pads.
Legal
Please note that eBike with more than 250W cannot be used on UK public roads without first obtaining type approval, insurance, tax, displaying a number plate and undergoing an MOT.
In the UK, only eBikes that comply with EAPC Regulations can be used on UK public roads without tax, insurance or registration. You can find out more about EAPC Regulations here: https://www.gov.uk/electric-bike-rules.
If you purchase an eBike that is beyond 250W, it can only be used off-road on private land unless you obtain type approval, insurance, tax, display a number plate and an MOT. For the avoidance of doubt, you will be responsible for obtaining such type approval, insurance, tax, registration and MOT.
If you are purchasing an eBike from outside of the UK, you are responsible for checking and complying with the applicable laws and regulations relating to eBike use in your jurisdiction and where you intend to use the eBike.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:
Any orders cancelled after 12 hours of placing the order may be subject to additional fees. If your order has been dispatched, you (the buyer) will be responsible for any costs associated with returning the item. Any refunds can only be issued to the same payment method which was used to place the order.

If you already have a cycle to work voucher (aka certificate or letter of collection), simply email it across to us at info@pedalandchain.co.uk .
We will redeem your certificate and then arrange the delivery of your new electric bike. We will also walk you through the easy process and provide you with tracking information when your bike has been dispatched.

Signed up to a scheme but no voucher?
Simply ask your employer to use their cycle to work scheme and submit your quote which will be the value of the bike that you want.
They will be able to arrange a voucher for you which you can then email across to us in exchange for your new electric bike!

Electric Vehicle Legal Guide
There are laws surrounding the use of electric bikes and e-scooters in the UK.
Below is a clear and simple summary of the laws, so that you know how to use your electric bike/scooter safely and legally.
Electric Bikes
- DO NOT require a license
- DO NOT require insurance or registration
- Riders must be a minimum of 14 years old
- Helmets are not mandatory
- On public roads, motors should be limited to 250W
- On public roads, ebikes must be powered by pedal assist and not a throttle
- On public roads, the top speed should be limited to 25 km/h
The limit to the motor on public roads is 250W, some e bikes have settings that exceed this limit which are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission. The assisted speed limit for e-bikes on the road is 15.5mph.
Electric Scooters
Under current UK law, privately owned electric scooters are illegal to ride on public roads. They are only to be used on private land with the landowners permission.
